Learning Support Assistant –The Hurlingham Academy (March 2018)
Working with the schools SENDCO department to support individual and key groups of pupils e.g. SEND, EAL, those on the Child Protection Register
Assisting teachers in the delivery of lessons, providing support to individual and small groups of pupils, by creating a wide range of resources for lessons catering to the child’s needs and ability. This stretches from creating revision packs to testing students.
Working as part of a team to ensure that the wellbeing, behaviour and personal development of pupils enhances learning opportunities and life skills. This is achieved by having fortnight meetings with teachers to discuss the progress of the students as well as view how else I could aid them to further improve.
Running several extracurricular activities; homework, creative writing and handwriting sessions. Additionally, I provide support outside of the normal classes, such as helping during exams by acting as a reader for students and invigilator.
Supporting the social and emotional development of pupils, through mentoring a small group of year 11s. Assisting and guiding them through their last year by making sure they are on task to meet their predicted grades, discussing future career plans, being on hand if they need to talk when they are stressed.
International Education Projects Assistant – ARK (April 2013)
Selected for the School Links programme between ARK Schools in the UK and schools in Uganda.
Identified creative methods to liaise two schools (in the UK and Uganda), with limited resources and time constraints, presented my findings to the CEO in the form of a 15 minute presentation and a written report
Attended meetings with the CEO from the charity ‘Educate’ and a video conference with ARK’s organisers in India and Uganda.

Completed a five day work placement at Meester Schaberg in Holland, which is a school for primary and secondary school students.
Taught English lessons to primary and secondary school students which had classes of up to 30 children.

Completed a 10 day voluntary work placement at SKSN, a school for disadvantaged children with polio in the North of India.
