March 2016- January 2018 Gateway Assessor at Citizens Advice • I previously volunteered as a gateway assessor at my local Citizens Advice. My duties entailed asking about the client’s profile such as whether they own or rent their property and how many people live there and if anyone is working. I am able to be patient and understanding when speaking with difficult clients. • I have demonstrated excellent customer service skills and good communication skills by taking as much detailed information as possible regarding the client’s issue, listening to them and understanding what the client wants to resolves their problem. • I also provide the client with details of how they can receive help. This can either be by making an appointment for the client to see a generalist advisor in bureau or at an outreach service, or by providing them with factsheets or contact numbers for other organisations that can provide assistance. • I also have the responsibility of writing up confidential client information, using Microsoft Word and Excel and recording it on a database, which demonstrates my good use of IT skills.
